Open Enrollment Questions to ask... "Am I Missing Something?"

Writer's picture: Alicia RosenbauerAlicia Rosenbauer

As Summer comes to an end and we look forward to a new season, I would like to take this opportunity to inform you of a deadline that could affect your health insurance coverage. We do not want anyone to miss the timeframe to possibly adjust their coverage for next year. In this 3 part discussion I will help you begin evaluating your future health coverage needs so that we can help you make informed decisions within the allotted period of time.

Open enrollment starts October 1 and Part 1 of this series is to help you to answer the questions... “Am I missing something?” and “Do I feel fully covered when it comes to my health insurance?”

These are all extremely important issues facing everyone, young and old. We are here to help you make informed decisions regarding these questions. For many Medicare beneficiaries we are coming up on a time when we can either keep our current coverage or make some adjustments.

Below are vital questions you should be asking yourself to assess if your insurance is covering all your needs:

  • Are my prescriptions being covered to my satisfaction? How much am I out of pocket for my prescriptions?

  • Am I investing my hard-earned dollars into a plan that is working for me?

  •  How would I pay for care after an injury or hospitalization? How will I pay for a bill from the hospital?

  • Is my current health insurance plan efficiently covering all my needs to the best of their ability?

  • How often am I going to the Dr? Can I go to the Dr I choose? What do I pay when I go to the Dr?

  • How much am I spending on my health insurance coverage?

  • Is there a way I will not owe a huge hospital bill?

  • What if I was diagnosed with Cancer? How can I pay for things like travel, room and board, extra help during treatment, etc.?

  • Do I have dental coverage?

If you have any of these questions and feel as though maybe there is an area of coverage that is missing, we can help. This is the perfect time to start evaluating your current coverage so we can address these concerns and help you make an informed decision in the coming months.

In this time of Covid-19, we have developed ways to assist you virtually in obtaining prescription lists so that we can get ahead of the game and start working on plans that will best benefit you in the coming months.

I encourage you to take some notes, jot down your answers to some of these questions, then call or email us so we can get a head start on researching the right fit for you and your family.
